We hope that these web pages give you an understanding of who Jarred Williams was before he died on his 13th birthday of a brain tumor. In Jarred's honor, we founded the Jarred Williams Foundation with the mission of helping families with a chronic and life threatening illness.
was established in 2003 to enhance the quality of life of children and adults with brain tumors and in 2009 expanded programs to include Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, (PTSD), and Trauma Brain Injury, (TBI).
On November 26, 2009, The Jarred Williams Foundation sponsored this event that helps generate revenue for the foundation so it may assist families in need.
Recently, I saw this article on the website about a childhood cancer survivor. He talks about his feelings when he was diagnosed with cancer and how he is feeling today as a survivor.
He was only 12 years old when he was told that he had a cancerous lump growing in the lower part of his right leg. He immediately thought, “I'm going to die!” but he survived. He experienced hours of surgery and months of chemotherapy, that resulted in hair loss, nausea, anxiety and anger. As an adolescent boy, he struggled mightily with his self-image. This story is a placeholder for the real stories that will follow. it is ficticious and in no way meant to represent any of the individuals the Jarred Williams Foundation have actually helped.
